Obituary for Ronald J. Vanderwyst

Ronald John Vanderwyst, 84 of West Salem, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
He was born January 18, 1934 in Cleveland to Arnold and Edith (Hager) Vanderwyst.
He grew up in Cleveland and Strongsville and entered the U.S. Navy in 1952, serving until being honorably discharged in 1954.
On July 15, 1955 he married Carol Oros in Angola, Indiana.
They resided in Penfield and later lived in Columbia Station and Strongsville before moving to West Salem 13 years ago.
Ronald had worked as a welder for Boilermakers Union Local 744 in Cleveland.
He had a wide variety of hobbies which ranged from horse breaking to race car building. His imaginative thinking in fabricating cars, boats, motorhomes and other vehicles led to numerous impressive results.
He is survived by his wife Carol with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage this past July, also his

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Arlene and brother Harry.
A Private Family Memorial will be held.
Arrangements by Parker Funeral Home in Lodi.
