Obituary for Doris (Susie) Hall

Doris Harriet “Susie” Hall, 90, of Lodi passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina. She was born August 27, 1927 in Berea Hospital to Walter Frank Schultz and Margareta Anna (Handwerck) Schultz and graduated Salutatorian from Olmsted Falls High School.

Doris and her husband, Wesley Franklin “Wes” Hall, were married August 2, 1950 and were residents of Lodi since 1954. Doris was a mother and homemaker and managed all the office duties for Hall Growers Inc.

Doris’s hobbies included gardening and golfing. She was a long time member of the Lodalia Garden Club, winning many garden show awards. An avid golfer, Doris played well into her 80’s. Her true joy, though, came from time spent with her family. Her fondest memories were made on family vacations with Wes and her children, “snow birding” in Cape Coral, FL with Wes at their Florida home, and later, time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her three children, Connie (K.C.) Brewer of Franklin, TN, Dewey (Marilyn) Hall of Lodi, OH, and Lee (Jeanne) Hall of North Fort Myers, FL; her seven grandchildren, Christie (Jeremy) Boyd, Josh (Lindsey) Brewer, Jason (Chandra) Hall, Jeremy (Amy) Hall, Erica (Dan) Harp, Larry Hall, and Whitney Hall; and her eleven great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Wes, as well as her brother, George Walter Schultz and sister, Margaret Edna Rabung.

All services were private and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi. Christie Brewer Boyd presented the eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lodi Fire & Rescue Squad.
